High School Youth Ministry
This week we registered for the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans that will be held beginning July 22 through the 26th. The theme of Jesus, Justice, and Jazz is sure to hold many awesome opportunities to serve and be filled with the musical love of Christ. As of Tuesday morning there were already 23,000 youth registered for the event. Our party will consist of 32 youth and 10 adults. We’ve even booked our airfare! If you would be interested in becoming a prayer partner with a member of our JJJ group please look for the signup sheet in the binder at the Welcome Center. It will be in the H.S. Youth section. If you leave your name, phone number, and email me I will be in touch with more information! Our goal is to partner with members of the congregation who don’t have any connection to our trip or to high school youth to further our relationships with the Grace family!
The High School Youth are embarking on a challenge to live life without complaints. It seems that we spend so much time saying things like “I’m so busy or I’m so tired” which all may be true but tend to put our focus on the negative side of life rather than the positive. We complain but don’t desire to be a part of the change process or we complain about things we have little control over. We encourage you to check out our bulletin board and search your own hearts and bibles for ways you can also become complaint free!
Grace friends are asked to mark your calendars now for our first Christmas Dinner put on by the high school youth which will be held on Sunday, December 14th. We’ll begin taking reservations shortly and will ask for a free will offering at the time of the meal. All youth are asked to reserve this day to be a part of the fun!
High School Youth should plan to be in attendance at one or all of the worship services when our friend Pastor Dave from Lutherdale and Milwaukee is the pastor for the weekend. In addition we will be presenting our trip to the congregation during the adult education hour. Even if you were unable to attend the trip please be here to support your friends!
Who are Grace Youth Group?
The Grace High School Youth Group is a strong, active and growing collection of youth that brings many diverse interests, gifts and talents to the group as a whole. To further capitalize on the tremendous potential within our youth group, monthly events, activities, projects, periodic retreats and trips are continuously planned and implemented. We look forward to our annual summer trips, monthly events, lock-ins, service opportunities and fundraising activities.
The high school youth also meets every Sunday
morning during the school year at Youth Forum for discussions and topics relating to
issues, concerns and interests of our group. During this meeting
time, the group often participates in activities and assists
with the shaping of future youth events. Click here for the Social Calendar.
Join us on Sundays during the school year at 9:45 in the parlor for Youth Forum, a time to talk about real life issues facing youth and the world today. Sometimes we meet at Java Junction at the Woodstock Train Station, so check with Youth Directors Deb and Jay Fuller for our schedule.
